Purchased new from Piper in 1998 by Roger Graham this aircraft has been maintained exclusively by us since new and has previously been on our rental scheme for many years. Now benefitting from Garmin Avionics upgrade including G600 and GNS430 suite supported by the original King Silver Crown kit with DME, ADF, Stormscope, TCAS, 6-Seat intercom and, as usual with all our rental aircraft, PLB, handheld VHF with headset adaptor, 6 Life Vests and 6 person Life Raft on board with a document file including VAT status paperwork making this aircraft ready to fly anywhere at short notice.

The IO-540 engine fitted to these aircraft is in my opinion one of the best in the business- this one being the original engine overhauled by my preferred engine overhauler 'Norvic Aero Engines'.

Although not benefitting from any ice protection this aircraft is capable of achieving most missions that a PPL/IR(R) holder would want to perform. On a typical Fowlmere > Guernsey flight taking around 5mins longer than(for example) a twin engined Seneca. We do require a minimum of 100hrs experience, at least 5hrs on similar variant (Performance Retractable) and a check-ride which needs to include a log entry stating instruction has been given on the G600. We also need you to demonstrate familiarity with the Pilot's Operating Handbook and a weight and balance calculation (This is not a full tanks/full cabin aircraft!). A pilot can realistically plan for 150kts cruise (depending upon weight and conditions) and with 'full' tanks this aircraft has routinely flown Fowlmere>Cannes non stop in around 4.5hrs.

A couple of operating tips for these aircraft include; load the aircraft from the rear. It has quite a forward C of G and is heavy in pitch, resist the temptation of retracting the gear too soon after takeoff, it is not a twin. For normal takeoff don’t use flaps unless you are limited by field length or weight.
